The Lord has been so good to me through the years. After the good ol' AHS days I ventured out across town to attend AC for two years. Following the AC years, Scott Allen coaxed me into coming to the University of Texas for the remaining time of college. It was a great two years of my life. During my junior year in college, I decided to pursue my Christian faith deeper. That decision led me to pursue a career as a youth pastor.
Upon graduating UT with a degree in Psychology, I went to graduate school at Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Tx. I met a wonderful woman from Round Rock, Tx by the name of Barbara Russell. She has always been a great support and help to me ever since we met. Upon finishing up seminary, Barbara and I went to Hilton Head, South Carolina where I was the youth minister at a church there. After 4 years of serving there, my dad passed away in Amarillo, and I longed to be a little closer to my mom. The closest I got was about 480 miles away where I served as a youth and college pastor at a church in Cedar Park, Texas (near Austin) where I spent a wonderful 10 years there and had the gracious opportunity to be a youth pastor to one of our outstanding classmate's (Vicky Gregory Thompson) children.
After Cedar Park, my family and I moved to Fredericksburg, Tx where I worked with students for another 4 years. As the years moved on, I realized that I was not as "cool" as I used to be with teenagers. Those lock-ins would wear me out! I began to seek opportunities for occupation and the Lord opened up a door for me to come back to Amarillo as an account rep for AT&T. For two years I worked in the advertising branch of the company, but constant road travel kept me away from my lovely family (wife Barbara and two great kids - son Shea, and daughter Camille).
One day I ran into Trent Sisemore and he invited me to come join his sales staff at his RV dealership. I have been at Sisemore Traveland for the past 2 years and love to work with such an outstanding man as Trent and his dad, Jack.
Whenever you are in Amarillo please drop in and see us, as several of you wonderful classmates already have. It will be such a joy to see you all again since I have not been able to attend the past reunions. I can't wait to see you all!
