Billy Oakley passed away on June 1st, 1979 as a result of a motorcycle accident in Amarillo before we even graduated. Very young, very tragic - but never absent from our high school memories...
We lived down the street from each other and attended Ridgecrest and Crockett. He was quiet, but had a ornery streak. He clipped me in the back of the head with a snowball once, when I was walking home from school. He had me laughing on many occasions.
